Vétérinaires sans Frontières-Germany (VSF-G) is a non-governmental, non-profit making organization, engaged in the field of veterinary relief and development work. VSF-G is operating in the Horn of Africa in Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia. The regional office is in Nairobi, Kenya and the head office is in Berlin, Germany. VSF-G has over 20 years of experience in implementing long-term and short-term projects with pastoralists and agro-pastoralists in the Horn of Africa. VSF-G focuses not only on animal health, production and marketing, but also tackles issues of food security, disaster preparedness, livelihood diversification, income generation, conflict mitigation, peace building and gender. VSF-G has been operational in the Republic of Sudan since 2006, following its registration with the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) as an independent non-profit international organization, currently working in four states: Blue Nile, South Kordofan, Central Darfur and West Darfur. Our main donors are USAID/BHA, SHF/OCHA, GFFO, BMZ and WFP. VSF-G main specialization is food security and livelihood often designed in a holistic approach to capture other dimensions including Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Protection and Environment Protection and Rehabilitation.
