PROCUREMENT OF SEEDS

 

Introduction:

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through its implementing program “Integrated Measures to Promote Rural-Urban Value Addition and Employment” is Co-Financed by the European Union and implemented in eastern Sudan. Under this program, a number of interventions are being carried out to achieve GIZ’s overarching aim of improving food security of communities supported by the program and availing water for irrigation during dry seasons. Haffir construction is part and parcel of this multi-faceted approach. Towards this end, GIZ-Sudan will procure sorghum, sesame and groundnut seeds to support farmers in its project locations in eastern Sudan.

 

These seeds will be tender as Lots as stated in the table below and interested companies should have the capacity to supply the right quality, quantity and packages of the required seeds. The seeds will be supplied to Al-Fashaga and Wadelhew localities

Lot-1

 

Sorghum Seed: Arafa-Gadam 8 Variety (300 bags each 12.5kg)

The seeds should be treated by the chemical treatments

 

Lot-2

 

Sesame Seeds: Promo Variety (300 bags each 10kg)

The seeds should be treated by the chemical treatments

 

Lot-3

 

Groundnut Seed: Sodary Variety or Gebesh (120 bags each 50 kg) The seeds should be treated by the chemical treatments

 

Special condition:

The seeds must be treated with seed treatment chemical and must be packed in the packaging indicated in the table above.

 

Requirements:

Interested companies have the option to bid for one, two or all lots. To qualify for consideration in the tender procedure, interested companies are required to submit the following information and documents for eligibility assessment clearly indicating the Lot they intend to bid.

 

  1. Official letter expressing interest in the tender clearly indicating the Lot you intend to bid for

 

  1. Company profile including full company name, full address, phones, valid emails, year the company was established, ownership, legal form, and experience in seed production or supply/ registered seed merchant.

 

  1. Copy of company registration certificate

 

  1. VAT registration certificate and Tax certificate from the tax chamber.

 

  1. List of experience in similar services in supply of seeds. This list should clearly state at least 3 names of the awarding companies, business email, contact person name, contact person phone number, order value and type of seeds supplied. Presentation of award letters or purchase orders are highly recommended.

 

  1. Bank reference letter issue in favour of GIZ Sudan from your bank stating that your company have no debt obligation and have good financial standing with your bank.

 

If the contract for the supply of seeds will be issued in United States Dollars (USD), hence payments will be via bank transfer or cheque to successful company’s nominated accounts held in company’s name account details in any bank. There will be no payments or transfer to third-party/related company hence it is your company responsibility that you have all required foreign currency bank information in line with financial regulation in the country. Further, there will be no payments in cash.

 

The information and documents specified above should be submitted to GIZ on or before    July- 2nd 2022 by 16.00 at the latest in hardcopies in a sealed envelope to

Do not send financial offers with your documents at this time, this will not be considered and may result in disqualification from participation in receiving tender document

All documents must be submitted in English language. For official document in Arabic Language, translated copies must be submitted duly signed by director or legal representative of the company.
